About David

David Dudgeon 

David has a lifetime of experience in the arts.  He has produced an extensive collection of paintings, thousands of sketches and dozens of furniture pieces.  He is the driving force behind David Dudgeon Studios, and is always looking for new challenges.  

Growing up on a mushroom farm outside Monaghan, and schooling in Armagh, David learned to work hard from a young age. He entered the University of Ulster Art College in 1985, where he studied for about 10 years.

In 1999 he started a building contractor firm, DAP Solutions, with his business partner Paul Elliott, beginning in refurbishing and fit-out work, moving later into new-build projects.  His arts influence, together with Paul's keen eye for interior design, has produced some eye catching interiors, using reclaimed brick and exposed stonework to fantastic effect.   

It was through this building work that he had his first opportunity to design and create his first piece of architectural ironwork (2007); the beginnings of David Dudgeon Studios.

David is a skilled painter with a distinctive style, and an accomplished craftsman in wood, steel and other medium; it is his creative nature that has driven David Dudgeon Studios in producing some beautiful work.  Our unique forming of steel into detailed and organic forms (e.g. the Dreaming Gate) is entirely down to David's eye.  Spending hours developing and perfecting a design, the results delivered are unparralelled the world over.
