The Commissioning Process

How it works

1. Simple. You contact us.  Say hello.  Tell us what you're thinking.

2. We'll give it some thought and discuss a few options with you - we'll give you some concept sketches, estimates and so on.

3. You decide which concept is right for you, or continue step 2 for a bit longer.

4. When everything's agreed, the work is fabricated, delivered and installed, by us.

5. You are delighted.

Every project we undertake is different.
Some customers have a clear idea of what they're looking for - others, less so.  That's where David Dudgeon Studios really excels.  We can tak your ideas (however precise or vague) and give you several design concepts, playing with your design as only skilled artists can.  We can photoshop concepts into site-photos to give you a good idea of the finished work, and we can reconsider and redesign.

Site visits are usually required. Sometimes an engineer's specification is required - we have links with several chartered engineer firms who can specify and certify our projects.

Timescale
Design time normally takes a week or so.  It depends on lots of factors such as the scale of your project, how many design revisions there are, and simply communicating back and forth.  Fabrication could take between a week and a few months, depending on scale and complexity.  Galvanising and Powdercoating (normally carried out by NK Coatings) takes about two weeks, although this can take longer around public holidays.

Payment
We normally require part payment (40%) at the beginning of your project, part payment (40%) when the work is ready for delivery/installation, and and final payment (20%) upon completion.  We accept Cash, Cheques and Bank Transfers.

To start the process, just get in touch. We're open for business and ready to talk.
