Artist breathes life into the Arts-Quarter of Bangor

Wrought Iron artwork, designed and fabricated by David Dudgeon Studios, has improved the environment in Southwell Road and Grays Hill.
Since 2007, David Dudgeon has been creating wrought iron artworks for sites throughout Ireland. You might have seen some of his work opposite the Esplanade Bar in Ballyhome, or on Southwell Road; one of his signature pieces – the Dreaming Gate (pictured) stands on this quiet street.
DDS offer a complete design, fabrication and installation solution for all kinds of architectural iron work, gates and railings, and will be happy to give you a free consultation:
"I'm keen to hear from people looking for Gates and Railings, especially those with a love of good design!" David said, "We are excited to launch our new website which has hundreds of photos of our work".
Visit the site at www.daviddudgeonstudios.com for more information, and to get in touch.
Besides local improvements, DDS have submitted dozens of Public Art Tenders for sites throughout Ireland, as well
as in the UK and further afield. A commission worth £35,000 was recently completed for Armagh City and District Council: two sections of decorative railings (about 35 metres total) in the theme of 'Saints and Scholars' captured some of the history and culture surrounding the city and St Patrick. DDS also worked with Bangor YMCA in creating the Yellow circular seat on Bangor seafront.
About 80 pieces of bespoke wrought iron and sculpture have been designed and fabricated over the past 5 years, ranging from small garden gates to large intricate balustrades and railings. David is planning to open an Art Gallery on Grays Hill in the near future.
